DOMAIN NAME REGISTRATION
To have a web site designed & developed is relatively common these days. In order for the web site to be found on the Internet, an address needs to be assigned to the web site.

This address is called a Domain Name, which is a unique name that identifies a web site on the Internet & allows visitors to find it on the World Wide Web. A typical domain name would be:

The following options are available:

Top Level Domain Registrations

com - typically used for commercial web sites
net - typically used for networks (ISP’s, Intranets, etc.)

org
- typically used for non-commercial organisations

info
- typically used for information web sites

biz
- alternative for .com domain names reserved for businesses


Country Specific Domain Registrations

co.xx - any domain name that ends with .co and then directly followed by the two-letter ISO Country Code, for example .co.za, which is the domain suffix for South Africa.
